St. Brigid is a wisdom figure and her ministry was associated with deeds of hospitality and compassion.
A large crowd joined the team at Croi Nua to celebrate an evening with St. Brigid.
There were stories, history of her life and St. Brigid cross making. The highlight of the evening was when the flame of
St. Brigid was brought from Kildare, site of her monastery, on its way to Knock the following day.
There was a sharing of the ancient traditions attached with Imbolc. There was lighting of candles, meditation,
blessing with water from St. Brigid’s well in Liscannor and ceremonial dancing to honour her . The evening ended with
tea and cross making. And as Fr. Charlie said, “all the stories were true, some even happened”
